"Progress Through Partnership" at the Yehuda Hotel in Jerusalem

The annual Hadassah-Israel 2-day conference was held at the lovely Yehuda Hotel in Jerusalem and the Vered Hasharon chapter were the organizers and hosts.

About 170 people - women and men - attended this year. Hadassah-Israel members were delighted with the social aspects of the conference and bowled over with some of the lecturers. Impossible to choose a favorite because so many filled that category.

The lecturers ranged from Dr. Sheer Shabbat, a doctor in rehabilitation care and one of her patients who had to recover from his wounds TWICE, to Professor Elly Teman, a researcher in surrogacy issues, to Professor Alon Tal who discussed environmental problems to Michael Dickson, an Englishman who made Aliyah with his family to Israel in 2006 and became a prominent global voice in StandWithUs Israel combating the lies about Israel, to Dr Shaunie Shammas, a talented linguist who was in the right place at the right time multiple times.

Following the morning lectures an Israeli folk dancing session was led by Eileen Martell from the Oren Chapter in Haifa.  After a dinner break, Esther Berman installed the Executive Committee for 2026.  Volunteer Awards Recognition for an outstanding volunteer from each chapter was followed by an energetic, flag waving musical performance by the ‘Gdolim Bemadim’ band, composed of soldiers from the IDF unit for people with special needs. A very inspiring event indeed.

A raffle was held and Hatikvah was sung before we dispersed homeward bound. Those of you who didn’t join in - we missed you and you missed a helluva time!
