The Extraordinary Zionist Congress took place April 19-21, 2023 in Jerusalem. Hadassah-Israel was well-represented by a delegation headed by National President Michal Shmueli. Other delegates were Rivkah Cooper, Miriam Griver, Rachel Oran, Ellen Shemesh, Pesiya Tamir, and Anabel Yuval. As the oldest delegate in attendance, Anabel (may she live to 120 in continued good health!) had the honor of opening the Congress.

The Congress was a whirlwind over 2 days.  Over 600 delegates from 40 countries came together to strengthen ties between Israel and their home countries, and to increase Zionist education and pride in Israel.

Between educational sessions, tours, plenaries, magnificent entertainment, and delicious food, we had opportunities to meet with the women of the Hadassah USA delegation, headed by National President Rhoda Smolow. We were able to share ideas and let them know more about the important work Hadassah-Israel does here on the ground.

The seeds that were planted at the Congress will bear fruit in the future of the State of Israel and Hadassah-Israel, as the Zionist dream remains alive and is strengthened.
