The board of the Nachama-Tamar chapter of Hadassah-Israel met on December 24th at the home of outgoing President, Anne Rothenberg, for a Board Appreciation luncheon.
Anne presented Special Recognition certificates to two board members for their outstanding service. Mikki Abitbol was honored for taking reservations for years for both chapter events and Special Gifts. Elinor Slater was recognized for serving as secretary of the Chapter for the last ten years, and taking minutes at Special Gifts planning meetings.
As a token of appreciation for Anne’s service as the chapter’s President for more than a decade, the Board presented her with a beautiful handcrafted necklace.
In addition to enjoying a lovely lunch, board members brought food to Anne’s neighbor, Karni Lahav (board member, Elisheva Lahav’s daughter-in-law) for Shabbat meals for recovering soldiers at Hadassah Ein Kerem who are mobile and wish to eat with a group rather than in their rooms on trays. Chicken, meatballs, fish, potatoes, rice, vegetables, salatim, baked desserts and paper products were contributed by the board.
Anne will continue to volunteer for Hadassah in her role as national VP of Fundraising and chair of Special Gifts. She will be replaced as Chapter President by Phyllis Barr and Lorraine Skupsky.
